Before the second world conflict, Ferdinand Porsche realized a few sketches of a sports version of a model of Volkswagen. After two years spend prison, to his exit, I recapture the project that was much advanced thanks to the collaboration between his son Ferry and Karl Rabe. Once designed, they initiated his assembly in Austria on a Volkswagen chassis and with a more powerful engine. The fruit of that work was called Porsche 356. The car was a success, his beautiful design and his accessible price did of him the first big business of the German signature.
Before the raw material scarcity in Austria, they decided to move the company to Zuffenhausen, very close to Stuttgart, in Germany. With the sales in good rhythm of 356, they were realized up to three versions of the same one: Coupé, Rafter and Speedster. Porsche made his first finished engine and developed the beautiful convertible 550 Spider, famous, for the death of actor James Dean when he was leading one of them.
In the year 1964 Porsche would confront the evolution of 356, the car was going to be called 901, but the French mark Peugeot had all the numbers of three numbers registered with a zero in way for his models. Like that was born the Porsche 911, one of the most legendary cars of the history. Powerful and of demanding conduction, it has received numerous evolutions along his extensive existence and still in our days it keeps on being a reference inside the sports ones of higher scale.
Other models of the German mark as 914, 924, 944 or the spectacular one 928 have always been in the shade of 911. One of the signs of Porsche identity has been his engine of four or six opposite horizontal cylinders, refreshed by air and placed after the rear axis. 911 it has mounted it during more than 35 years and has received numerous cylinder capacity increases and promotes, going so far as in the last versions to adopt the given liquid refrigeration the enormous potency that is capable of developing.
After spending for serious economic problems in the 90s and losing his founder, Porsche has been able to go out forward thank you; to his engineering works for other companies of the sector and to the good reception that his models have between the most demanding public.
