León Twin Drive; the SEAT hybrid

There has been celebrated recently in San Sebastian a meeting, of informal character, of the ministers of Competitiveness (Industry and Investigation) which principal interest point, for the world of the engine, has been the debate on the future of the electrical vehicle in Europe. The Spanish mark SEAT has taken part of active form in the event presenting his hybrid model Twin Drive, based on the León.

The palace donostiarra of the Kursaal has turned into a perfect shop window so that many of the top marks present his most ecological bets, under the attentive look of the different European delegations. The Spanish minister of Industry, Miguel Sebastián, was accompanied during his visit by the president of the ANFAC (National Association of Manufacturers of Motorcars and Trucks), Francisco Javier García Sanz, in turn president of the Council of Administration of SEAT and vice-president of the consortium Volkswagen.

The SEAT León Twin Drive presented by the president of the Spanish signature James Muir, is a hybrid vehicle, which according to the proper mark is the previous step towards a vehicle impelled only by electricity. The SEAT model combines the traditional propulsion by means of an explosion engine with the electricity company, which allows the use of the last one in urban trajectories and that of internal combustion for inter-city trajectories.

The system Twin Drive allows an autonomy in 50 kilometers electrical way, with a maximum speed limited to 100 km / h, thanks to an electrical engine capable of delivering up to 47 CV of maximum potency fed by a few batteries of ión-lithium located in his rear axis. The SEAT hybrid is capable of reaching up to 195 km / h of speed top when the one that works is the combustion engine. The Spanish mark hopes to be able to commercialize a completely electrical version in the year 2014.

The future of the electrical cars, like the SEAT León Twin Drive, happens for obtaining a network of denser reload and for a decrease of the costs in key devices for this type of cars, as there are the batteries entrusted to provide the energy so that the vehicle rolls.
