Granite, the compact one of the future as GMC

General Motors has presented in recently celebrated Motive Show of Detroit what, according to them, will be the compact one of the future. With very American esthetics that combines the urban thing and the industrial thing, the GMC Granite, young man is directed to a public that bets for the functionality and who needs a vehicle with load capacity.

Although it is not excessively long for what it is habitual for those grounds, the Granite has been designed by a very big and flexible cockpit, which allows him to adapt itself easily to the needs of any consumer. Following the line of the last creations of GMC, this new concept combines capacity, materials of high quality, finished of authentic luxury and the last thing in technology. His exterior of marked industrial tendency, it gets together to the perfection with a wide interior and a very precise mechanics, which they do of the Granite an extremely versatile vehicle.

The engine that General Motors has arranged for this prototype is a 1.4 liters turbocharger that belongs to the new family of small propellents with four cylinders that the North American mark has just developed. Connected there goes to him an efficient change of six relations of double clutch that helps to increase the yield of the propellent and provides a major gentleness in his handling.

The entire length of this concept belongs to some more than contained 4,1 meters, with a distance between 2,6 meters axes. His size gives him an exceptional maneuverability, even circulating along streets of few width. If we add to this scarce length a 1,7 meters entire breadth and a height of 1,5, we obtain a vehicle, which in spite of his esthetics, moves away from the traditional American style and design.

The idea of General Motors is to plant face on the market to models like Kia Soul or Nissan Cube, for it he has designed this prototype that is provided with inverted doors opening and lacks central prop, what facilitates the access to the vehicle both of his occupants and of the load.
