History of Lexus

L uxury Ex port U nited S tates or what is the same, Lexus, was created by Toyota in 1989 to compete with the big European and American marks on the always complicated and demanding American market. Today we speak in our blog dedicated to the world of the engine of the division of luxurious motorcars of the Japanese giant.

In the first years of production of Lexus, this one was limiting herself to selling vehicles of high scale belonging to the Japanese market; later it began to develop its own models. The idea of creating a division of luxurious vehicles was not new in Japan, Sling for example created Acura for such an intention, while Nissan did the proper thing with Infiniti.

Lexus happened to include the whole high scale of Toyota, and models like: Celsior, Altezza and Aristo, would happen to be called Lexus LS, IS and GS respectively. Although his initial intention was to compete on the North American market, the Lexus models also threw themselves in many other countries.

The first model put in circulation by Lexus was the LS 400, appeared the same year of his foundation, his revolutionary design had not anything in common with the commercialized for Toyota and although in Japan it sold like Toyota Celsior, there it did not have the same reception as in the exterior.

Now Lexus has been already 20 years and keeps on making excellent products capable of satisfying the most exquisite client. At present and always in the avant-garde, he has in his catalog of two models with hybrid propulsion, the RX 400h and GS 450h, that in addition to being respectful with the environment support a very high level of elegance, comfort and services.

Lexus finds between the top marks as for reliability and services of his vehicles, at a level very similar to that of Mercedes, BMW, Audi or Cadillac.
