Smart prepares the second generation of the electrical version of the Fortwo for 2012. Nevertheless, 1.000 units, they will be available the next year for some other clients selected by Smart in the different European and American capitals. The idea of the signature is that these vehicles serve like patrol to a production in mass of his small motorcar. An urban very attractive one loaded with technology and now free of pollutant emission.
The new battery of ión-lithium that Smart Fortwo will mount between his axes, neither penalizes the useful space of his cockpit, nor determines his safety. Fortwo Electric Drive has an electrical engine that produces 27 CV, although thanks to the function “overboost“ it is capable of increasing even the 41 CV (only in phases of maximum acceleration and for a maximum space of two minutes). The propellent is associated with an automatic change of two relations, one to circulate and other one for the reverse gear.
Smart promises a 135 kilometers maximum autonomy for his future model. Conceived to circulate only along city, Fortwo Electric Drive accelerates from 0 to 60 km / h in 6,5 seconds and has his maximum speed limited to 100 km / h.
The most important innovation that Smart proposes in his new model is the system of intelligent load. The vehicle can be recharged so much in a capture of normal current (2 hours), as in points of rapid load. The system manages an energy load in moments in which the electricity is cheaper (load programming with the car parked during a long period). If we need a rapid load because we are going to use the car immediately, the system is in charge of requesting the maximum quantity of possible energy in this moment. Also, the manufacturer allows to install an option to manage, from the mobile phone, the state of the process of load and the autonomy of the vehicle.

If some of these parameters will reach an extreme level, the electronics of the car diminishes the potency and avoids a surcharge of the system. Also, it supervises the load process and indicates the capacity level.
