Suzuki's history

Today in our blog dedicated to the engine we approach Suzuki's history, Japanese signature dedicated to the manufacture of motorcars, motorcycles, hut and one was engines without end of products equipped with small engines of combustion.

When Suzuki was founded in 1909 his principal activity it was based on the looms construction, under the name of Suzuki Loom Works, he devoted himself to this activity until the year 1951, date in which the market of the cotton collapsed. Suzuki considers then to return to the field of the motoring to which he had already devoted himself to small scale in the year 1931.

In 1952 it throws a bicycle with engine that reached a notable success of sales in his country, two years later an improved model went out and the Japanese signature changes his name to Suzuki Motor Corporation. In 1955 there goes out of his chains of assembly the first car made of series, the Suzulight.

In the 70s, two models, the Fronte and the Jimny, achieve that Suzuki increases his exports and allow a big growth of the Japanese manufacturer. At the beginning of the 80, the North American market demands more and more small and cheap vehicles, Suzuki, sees the opportunity and reaches a series of agreements with General Motors that they allow him to sell there his model Isuzu (known also like Chevrolet Sprint). In 1985 there commercializes in the United States Suzuki Samurai, child todoterreno robustly and manageably, that receives a big acceptance.

In 1987, Suzuki exports new models to the American market under the name of Geo. The most out-standing was Geo Metro known as Europe like Suzuki Swift, a very manageable urban child and who is still made thanks to constant and guessed right updates on the part of the Japanese signature. In 1995, Suzuki, reached 975.000 made motorcars.

At present Suzuki is provided with production plants in Japan, China, Hungary, India and Pakistan.
