We continue in this blog dedicated to the engine with the analysis of the berlins of high scale series 5 of BMW. The engineers of the German signature have put special interest to improve the services of the chassis and of the train of shooting of new series 5. For it they have placed active stabilizing bars in both axes, these elements help to obtain a train of more effective and versatile shooting.
The rigidity of the bodywork has increased in 55 % and the use of light materials as the aluminum has spread over a major number of parts of the vehicle. Nevertheless the biggest innovation that BMW includes in this renewed family is the system of active direction in four wheels, thanks to which, the wheels of the rear train also can turn. This is obtained thanks to the help of a few electrical engines, which, they allow the rear wheels to turn in the opposite direction the front parts up to 60 km / h; from here on, they turn in equal sense. Very similar system to 4control of Renault and that it helps in maneuvers at low speed, in addition to increasing greatly the stability in curves.
Another system thought to do the most comfortable conduction and that 7 inherits from the series, it is the Dynamic Control of Conduction. This device allows to choose between several configurations so that the berlin answers according to our way of driving. The ways are four: Normal, Comfort, Sport or Sport + and the elements on which it operates the Dynamic Control are: suspension, gas pedal, direction, gearbox, control of stability and of haulage.
From the optional team of the new series 5 we can emphasize the speed control of intelligent cruise, s istema of night vision capable of detecting pedestrians, adaptive system of illumination, system of notice for change of involuntary rail, system of recognition of traffic signs of speed limitation, system “Surround View“ (set of cameras that show us the perimeter of the vehicle) or more than comfortable assistant for the parking, thanks to which, the car does the maneuver only, we have only to worry of accelerating or braking.
In the spring of this year we will be able already to enjoy of new series 5 at an initial price that will be about 40.000 euros.
