There comes to our blog of the engine the history of one of the biggest manufacturers of cars of France, Renault. With more than 100 years in the world of the engine, the Gallic signature has been characterized for making hard just as elegant cars. Much joined to our country, it possesses plants in different Spanish cities like Valladolid or Palencia.

The signature of the rhomb was born in Billancourt, close to Paris, thanks to the brothers Renault, two of them dedicated to the economy and the child, Louis, a genius of the mechanics. His first cars were moved by engines De Dion, as soon as it be acquired experience, Renault, it developed its own propellents of two cylinders thanks to which his models obtained big reputation on having gained several careers between cities at the beginning of the XXth century.
The death of Marcel Renault, precisely in one of these careers it led to the signature to moving back from the competition. The scale of engines was growing, and of four they passed to six and up to eight cylinders. The world wars were the face and the Renault cross. If in the first one his cars acquired reputation and prestige, being used of massive form to transport the soldiers at the head, the second one brought with it the destruction of his factory and the imprisonment of Louis Renault.
The French government nationalized Renault and this one happened to be called Regie Nationale give Usines Renault. Under the control of the state, the French signature was the manager of motorizing to the country with his model 4CV. 4CV it was the first one in mounting his engine in rear position and in sending the force of the above mentioned engine to the wheels placed closer of the engine. This structure would be in force up to well brought in the 70s when the model R8 disappeared.
The expansion of Renault was unstoppable with plants in Europe, Africa, South America and Middle East. Forwards were arranging his models now of engine and haulage and the Gallic multinational tried the conquest of the American market. This one began with the buy of American Motors and concluded of disastrous form with the sale of the same one the group Chrysler.
In the last times it tried to be allied by Volvo but the agreement did not take to effect for a few inopportune declarations of a French politician. In order to penetrate on the Asian market, Renault, it took the Nissan control and bought the Korean Samsung Motors.
